Buton is a long way from Bali. Trips there are planned on request and are separate from our Bali boat charters.

Why Buton

Buton is one of the archipelago’s least-visited islands, and that is the appeal: no crowds, little development and a pace set by the island rather than by tourism.

Its forest is known for cryptic forest mammals tracked by Operation Wallacea researchers, and the Kaimbulawa community keeps its own traditions. Visits to both are arranged respectfully and in advance.
