A private charter, compared

Against a luxury resort, a cruise ship and a standard charter: what each gives you, and when each is the better choice.

Two guests on the bow of a yacht approaching an island

Side by side

Curated private charter Who is on board Your party only, 2–12 guests Schedule Yours Best for Occasions, families, privacy
Standard charter Who is on board Your party Schedule Operator’s set route Best for A known boat and route
Luxury resort Who is on board Other resort guests Schedule Fixed to one place Best for Staying put
Cruise ship Who is on board Hundreds of passengers Schedule Fixed timetable Best for Covering distance cheaply
A guest cabin with a made double bed inside a motor yacht
Your own cabin, not a resort room
A charter yacht at anchor seen from above
Your own anchorage, not a cruise port

What curation adds

A standard charter gives you a vessel and a crew. A curated charter starts earlier: menus built around your diet, the water sports you want on board, and a route chosen for the group rather than the operator’s habit.

A resort anchors you to one view. A boat moves, so the day can go where the water is clearest and the anchorage quietest.

Which to choose

Choose a private charter if

  • The day marks an occasion
  • You want control of the schedule
  • Privacy matters to your group
  • You want to see several islands

Choose something else if

  • You would rather stay in one place
  • You are travelling alone on a tight budget
  • You want a fixed, pre-set package

Not sure which fits?

Tell us about the trip. We will say honestly whether a private charter is the right call.
